Introduction:
According to Jewish tradition, Elul is the month of forgiveness. If we forgive our friends, then G-D will forgive us for any mistakes we may have made during the year. Before we enter Rosh Hashanah, where we pray for a good New Year, we want to stand before G-D with a clean slate. We, therefore, begin a process of repentence and forgiveness in Elul, which culminates with Yom Kippur where G-D bestows his total forgiveness on those who seek it. This song, traditionally sung during Elul helps us to express friendship and to ask our friends for forgiveness.

Lyrics:
Let's be friends
Make amends
Now's the time to say I'm sorry.
Let's be friends
Make amends,
Please say you'll forgive me.
