A Seder Plate

Introduction:

This idea for an easy-to-make preschool seder plate was submitted to us by Marjorie K. in New York.

Materials:

• 2 See-through Plastic Plates
• tissue Paper, ripped pieces of colorful paper, ripped pieces of
• streamers, crepe paper and other flat objects
• cupcake holders or dixie cups
• glue mixed with water

Directions:

1. Create a colorful collage by gluing pieces of tissue paper, ripped pieces of colorful paper, streamers, etc. onto one of the plates.
    
2. Put the other plate on top of the plate with the colorful collage and seal the plates together so that the tissue paper collage is sealed in between the two plates.
    
3. Paste cupcake holders on top of the top plate.
    
4. Congratulations! You have now made your very own seder plate.

Tips for using this Seder plate:
When using the Seder plate, place food in a cup cake holder and place the cup cake holder in one of the holders which are glued onto the plate. After completing the Seder, remove the holders with the food, so that the plate with its attached holders can be reused for many years.

Additional Seder Plate Idea (from Shelley in Texas):

Mount the child's picture in the middle of the plate so it will be sealed along with the art work. OR, Along with the child's picture, the different parts of the seder plate could be represented with colors - i.e. red for the charoset, green for the parsley, white for the egg, etc. Then the 2 plates could be sealed. This turns out to be a beautiful keepsake!
