Introduction:

This is a traditional melody often used on Simchat Torah to punctuate the reading of the creation of the world. The "vayehi erev, vayehi voker, yom echad" etc. is a direct quote from the Torah. There are hand motions that include lots of "thumbs up" and "thumbs down" motions - experiment with your own and tell the story of creation in between the "yum badum" verses.

Continue singing the song, by repeating the verse and, each time, replacing the last two words (Yom Echad) with one of the following. Continue singing the song until you have sung the verse with the word "Shabbat" at the end:
