Marshmallow Snow People

Why This Recipe:

In many areas of our country winter means snow. Whatever the weather brings in your city, this recipe lends itself to imaginative play and a tasty treat.

Ingredients:

  • Enough marshmallows to allow 3 per person
  • Large tube(s) of white icing
  • Small tube(s) of black icing
  • Strips of fruit leather type candy
  • Paper plates
  • Confectioner's sugar
  • Strainer or sifter
  • Assorted other decorations as you wish

Directions:

  1. Work over a paper plate. Have the children stack three marshmallows on top of each other with a dab of icing between each marshmallow.

  2. Lay the "snow person" down on the plate to decorate the face with small icing tubes.

  3. Tie a scarf around the neck, using a strip of fruit leather.

  4. Attach the snow person to the paper plate with another dab of icing.

  5. Be as imaginative as you wish here, creating a winter scene.

  6. Put confectioners sugar in a strainer or sifter, and allow it to snow on each scene.

  7. Take a picture, make a bracha, and eat!
