Strawberry Fluff


Why This Recipe:

Here is a fun recipe, from preschool teacher Chavie S., that you and your students can make during Tammuz and throughout the summer.

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups strawberries
  • 3/4 cup confectioners powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 pinch of salt

Materials:
  • 1 potato masher
  • 1 electric mixer
  • cups

Directions:
  1. Have children wash and hull strawberries.
     
  2. Have students crush the berries with a potato masher.
     
  3. Combine all ingredients in the bowl of a mixer.
     
  4. Beat at highest setting for 10 minutes or until mixture is thick and fluffy.
     
  5. Pour into cups and put in freezer.
     
  6. When chilled, eat and enjoy!
