Overview:
Following the Torah reading of Noah, there are a number of Torah portions which trace the history of the ancestors of the Jewish people and the development of a particular family into the Jewish nation.
These stories, however, are not just historical documents. These Torah portions, which are rich with stories and anecdotes, are written to teach us moral and ethical behavior. Based on these stories, there is a lot to be learned about the values and lifestyles of the forefathers of the Jewish people.
