Why This Recipe:
During the month of Shevat, we can celebrate Tu b'Shevat by making recipes that use food items that come from trees. This tasty recipe includes bananas and dates.
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1 cup chopped dates
- ¼ cup oil
- 2 cups oats
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
(makes approximately 24)
- Cut two of the bananas into bite-size chunks.
- Mash the third banana.
- Combine all of the ingredients and stir unto well mixed.
- Let it stand for 10 minutes.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Cool before eating.
