Banana Bites

Why This Recipe:

During the month of Shevat, we can celebrate Tu b'Shevat by making recipes that use food items that come from trees. This tasty recipe includes bananas and dates.

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • ¼ cup oil
  • 2 cups oats
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
(makes approximately 24)

  1. Cut two of the bananas into bite-size chunks.
     
  2. Mash the third banana.
     
  3. Combine all of the ingredients and stir unto well mixed.
     
  4. Let it stand for 10 minutes.
     
  5. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
     
  6. Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.
     
  7. Cool before eating.
